Altec Lansing has been a quality name for audio for many years now - particularly speakers. They have made a product for the Zune called the IM414 MP3 Speaker System. Much to my surprise, the product got great reviews on amazon.com - but ONLY if you could get it to work! And unfortunately, the negative reviews have piled up from people who purchased the item only to find that their particular model of Zune did not fit the IM414.

Yesterday I contacted Altec Lansing and was told that they now have an adapter for the IM414, and that they will send it to you for free. As this adapter solves the connectivity problems users of the 80gb model were having, and since users of older model Zunes heaped so much praise on the item for its great sound, Altec Lansing has taken the high road and is actively working to resolve this problem.

For those who need it, I contacted alteclansing@custhelp.com in order to find a solution for the issue, and their response was quick and thorough.
